Exploring the City

Yesterday we spent a few hours sight seeing and walking around Paris.  We had a really nice Parisian day.  We got baguettes and eclairs and ate lunch at the park.  We took the subway to see the LDS meetinghouse, the Seine river, and Notre Dame.  In the evening we went to the Eiffel tower. Overall it was a wonderful day.  I'm glad we had a nice day together as a family before the students arrived and our time becomes much less our own.  I was also relieved that the day felt pretty easy (or at least manageable).  Our first day here I felt overwhelmed by the city.  Even though we've lived in urban areas before, it felt different to try and navigate with three children and a foreign language.  I was second guessing our decision to come.  It isn't always going to be easy, but I am going to blame most of the anxiety on jet lag and I'm looking forward to many more Parisian days.
