The Final Countown

The final countdown has begun.  With less than 2 weeks until we leave Paris we have been feeling the pressure to get out and enjoy it while we can.  And yet this week it felt like we spent a lot of time in the apartment.  Here are the excuses:  cold, wet weather; kids were tired from our trip to London; 3 events with students (book group, dinner, and the ballet); homeschool catch up from last week and attempting to get ahead for our upcoming weeks of travel.

We did manage to do a few things.  Here are some highlights.

Fancy pants to church.
The kids really wanted to have escargot while we were in Paris.  Libby and I managed to eat one each while Isaac, Chris, and Luke each ate 3.  The taste wasn't bad, the texture was a little difficult.  Very chewy.

This is the garlic-butter sauce (which is yummy)
and not some type of slime coming out of the snail.

We get to see the Eiffel Tower every day (you can see it from our front window) but I still love walking by it, especially at night.  When we first got here I thought we'd spend a lot more time at the Eiffel Tower than we have.  Maybe we'll hang out there more in our last few days.

Libby's blood sugar was low and we ran out of juice.
She was beyond thrilled to get to drink a coke.
Word search metro station.

Rainy day in Paris.
