We successfully made it in to the Louvre! We stayed with the art history class for about 10 minutes and then headed off on our own. We made sure we saw the two biggies the kids most wanted to see -
Mona Lisa and
Venus de Milo. And then we saw a lot of antiquities - Egyptian, Roman, and Greek. We quickly went through the Italian Renaissance and the Medieval period. The kids hit their limit at about two and a half hours and we called it a day.

This is a painting by Elisabeth Vigee-Lebrun one of the most successful women artists of her time.
She became a personal friend and painter of Marie Antionette. |

It was strange seeing the
Mona Lisa. You don't get the chance to really see it or experience it, just to be part of a crowd around it.
