We ignored the warnings and took our young children 60 feet (132 steps) below ground into the Paris Catacombs. In 1786, health-conscious Parisians looking to relieve congestion and improve the city's sanitary conditions emptied the church cemeteries and moved the bones here, to former limestone quarries. Now tourists can walk through one mile of underground tunnels contains the bones of 6 million Parisians. It a pretty unique place. I was more disturbed by being in a small underground tunnel than I was by the 6 million bones. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Flash photography is not allowed (neither is touching or taking the bones FYI), so it was a little difficult to take pictures. We figured out if we used the light on Chris's phone it worked okay.
