As pathetic as it sounds, today was the first time I've taken the kids out without Chris. It was a pretty easy outing and we survived. Since they have done a good job with school this week (I realize it is only Tuesday) and we needed to do some grocery shopping. We walked a few blocks down our street to McDonald's and then across the street to shop at Monoprix. I realize some people will think less of us for eating at McDonald's in Paris (not once but twice) but a mom's gotta do what a mom's got to do. We took the metro home because we had too much to carry, even with our grocery cart and bags. Getting up and down the metro stairs and in and out of the train with all our groceries was an adventure.

I'm proud of Isaac for telling the person at the counter he didn't speak French and then asking for ketchup (in English). Isaac has taken on the challenge of trying to learn what he can in French and is doing a great job. He'll have to learn "ketchup" if we plan to visit McDonald's again. (Update: Chris tells me ketchup in French is ketchup!)

Who are these "some people" of whom you speak?
